Christmas

Christmas Day we have done things a little different every year.  This year we read The Story of Christmas and the boys got 3 gifts from us.  Based on the 3 gift the wise men brought.  The gold gift did not come so I had to compromise a little so they got a few more than 3.  I got this idea from a ladys blog that I follow you can visit her here.  Santa and his helper stay up tell wee in the morning doing the things around the house.  So instead of them going to sleep afterwards the wake the kids.  Telling them Santa came this Christmas it was 3 am.  They open there gifts and then we go to bed the kids stay up and play with there gifts and crash when they cant stay awake anymore.  It has worked out for the most part.

When you open the book it has little books that are numbered.  I handed them out and each of us read them out load.
Conner just need a little help with a few words.

The First Gift was myrrh ( something practical something they can use)

 Clothing can always be used.

The second gift is frankincense (something we all can enjoy together as a family)

Movies with some popcorn. We love watching movies together.

The last gift is Gold (something they really wanted)

Patrick got a pair of shoes green shoes that he just loved and the other boys got characters to go to the wii for there Sky-lander game.  And the boys had a few more gifts to open.  Then I made Christmas Breakfast.  Randy and I decided on not getting gifts for each other.(we did get one gift  from the boys)  We sponsored two little girls in China for Christmas this year instead. You can visit there blog here.

This is Lydia and her Chunky Sock Monkey I made just for her.  She is also wearing the bow I sent also sent a outfit.

Then it was time for Randy and I to lay down and get a few hours of sleep before the rest of the family came over.  As always I do Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.  So I wanted something simple and I wastnt going to fund the whole holiday Dinner so I made a list of things that each family needed to bring so I could cook it.  Okay so the crack pot could.  This year Dinner was Mexican Style.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Daylon Isaac.

I remember ten years ago I was fixing dinner in my apartment.  Pork chops and mash potatoes.  I was in the kitchen and I felt a big gush.  I was like crap I cant have had my water break.  So I go upstairs to the restroom.  And what I saw I knew it was not good.  I go to a friend just 2 apartment down from mine and asked her if she could watch the 2 boys.  She saw the panic in my face and voice she asked what was wrong. I told her um I have blood.  She had her husband come help with the kids and she drove me to the hospital. My OB doctor meet me at the hospital. I needed to be on bed rest no getting up to use the RR or anything. The next day I felt the same thing.  I pushed the call button the nurse came in I said um something not right she looked and ran out of the room.  Here comes my OB and 6 other nurses.  Alarms going off like crazy.  Doctor says Brenda we got to get you into the OR.  We got to get the baby out.  I'm like okay i need to call my mom.  I tried to reach her but I was in panic mode and dialed the wrong number.  They were wheeling me out of that room with me still hanging on to the phone.  I kept on saying I need to call my mom.  As the phone getting ripped of the wall.  One of the many nurses said Brenda I will call her.  I gave her the number hoping she will be there before the baby came.
Here he is!

Daylon was not doing well so they called for a helicopter to come get him so he could be moved to another hospital.  My mom called our pastor and had him come baptize him and give him last rights.  They were not sure he was going to make it.  This photo above is how I got to see my son for the first time.  I was not in the best shape after either.  So for a week he was in another town and I was still in were I gave birth to him.  I was not able to leave the hospital for a week.  And as I look back I should of stayed longer.  But I wanted to get to my son.  I would call the hospital for updates.  Still was not looking good.  So for the next 6 mouths yes 6 mouths.  I would be in Lincoln Ne for one whole week with him.  And then I would be home for a week.  It was hard to be separated from the 2 older boys when with Daylon.  Then it was hard when I was with the older ones that I was not with Daylon.
First time I got to hold my son it was in late Oct.

Nurses at Lincoln NICU they hold a special place in my heart.

It was a long road to get were we are today.  I'm so blessed to have Daylon

Here he is today!

You can look at him today and never know he is a special needs child and that he had a hard start.  Daylons choice of meal was a new one.  http://www.crockingirls.com/recipes/taquito-enchilada-casserole/  And i made a back up also.  Just in case it was not good and plus to feed everyone.  http://www.crockingirls.com/recipes/kaylas-enchilada-casserole/   I have made this one before so i know it was GOOD.  The new one that I made tasted so good. I made a few changes used cream of chicken soap and added some onion powder and chili powder.  And I bought a cake and made a crock pot cake also.  http://www.crockingirls.com/recipes/slow-cookin-smores-cake/  On the cake it said 3 hours well in my crock pot it must cook hotter so I need to cook less next time.

                           Happy 10th Birthday Daylon!!!!!!!

So busy

There has been a lot going on at our house.  Running here and there.  I was looking back on what has been going on and I realize every Monday for the last 3 weeks.  I have taken a kid into the ER because there were not feeling well.  The first one was Patrick with a concussion.  Second Daylon with strep throat.  And again Patrick with strep throat.  And I just has Patrick to the Doctor on that Friday for a check up on his concussion also not feeling well  and I told the doctor that.  I think he missed that part.   He did check his throat and ears and all the stuff that goes with it.  We were more worried about his concussion.  I guess.  Well by Monday night it was out of control he couldn't breath that is how infected his throat was.  I felt so bad for him.  He is doing much better now.  He has not been re-least to go back to playing football.  He was so upset about that and the doctor explained it to him on why it was not best.  So the doctor is the bad guy now not mom as much.  Monday Oct 1st Ryan had a football game at 4:30 it was in Brady.  And Daylon had a program at 7 The Country Hoe down in Stapleton.  He had to be there by 6:45.  So I rushed to see Ryan first half of the game rushed home. Randy had all the kids picked up from the bus they had eaten and waiting for me in another car so we can hurry and drive 25 miles.  We made it in time.  It has been a busy week for sure.  Friday we had Parent teacher conferences.  All the kids are doing great.  Football will be over soon.  Monday is Ryan last game and he is begging for me to let him do wrestling.  I have not decided yet.  I told them all to pick on sport and that was all I was going to do with all the driving and all.  His coach thinks it will be good for him.  I laugh when he told me that.  I said it "maybe good for you but is not good for my pocket".  So we will see.  I don't want to ever discourage my kid on doing something.

Here are a few photos of Ryan's game on Oct 1st.  I did not get many of them because I was to busy watching the game.  And i had to leave early :(

And here are a few of Daylon Country Hoe Down

The kids got to choose who they wanted to teach the dance to.   Grandma came so when Daylon came over to me.  I said Daylon choice grandma.  Daylon pick grandma. I do not know my left foot from my right foot.:)
